Vin Diesel is lined up for yet another high-octane role in an action thriller flick which has yet to be titled. The actor will not only play the leading role but also produce the movie through his own company, One Race Prods, in partnership with another newly formed production company, The Ink Factory. Two unknowns, Oliver Butcher and Stephen Cornwell, have written the script.
In a statement by Diesel and production partner Samantha Vincent they said, ?Butcher and Cornwell understand how to write intelligent action thrillers that translate to an international audience.?
Diesel is best known for his leading roles in the lucrative The Fast and the Furious action franchise. The last movie of the five film series, Fast Five (2011), grossed $600 million at the worldwide box office making it the highest grossing film in the franchise. The film was produced by Diesel?s own One Race Prods as was Fast and Furious (2009), the second highest grossing film in the series.
Diesel is currently working on a sequel to the Chronicles of Riddick (2004), set for a September release in Canada this year. The film has been in pre-production status since 2006.
In an Interview with Late Nights TV host Conan O?Brien he stated that he had changed his name Vin Diesel whilst he worked as a bouncer, as know one in that occupation gives out their real name. Vin is shortened from Vincent, and diesel is from his friends who always nicknamed him diesel as in the fuel, because of his boundless energy.
