There is a corporate responsibility to incorporate solid business ethics within a business. In fact, it?s part of social responsibility for business to improve their practices in the countries they operate in. People are far more likely to seek out employers who have solid business ethics. In countries where ethical practices are minimal, those companies with the solid ethics are sought after for employment. When foreign companies are operating in a country the expectation is that they should behave in a manner above and beyond local companies.

We are moving towards a world that?s more moral, that has higher ethics, and that demands more from corporations operating within that world. Globalization has changed the way business occurs. No longer does a business stay secluded to its own small region, today these same businesses are competing globally, with pressure to conform to the demands of more advanced societies, otherwise they will simply be overlooked for a company that has put strong business ethics into place. Globalization is at the very root of the growth in the number of countries putting ethics laws and practices on the books.

Easy and Useful Macro: Right Fit Worksheet ? Business ...

If you?ve never created a Macro before, this one will be an easy starting place. A macro can be a simple recording of keystrokes that can be played back over and over again. The purpose of this macro is to set the column widths and row heights to the right size to accommodate the data their holding. Start with a worksheet where you?ve narrowed a few columns enough to show # signs in the cells. You may also want to select a few rows and make them either too wide or too narrow.

Columns too narrow, rows too tall and narrow.

1. Start on the View tab, in the Macro group and click the Macro button.
2. Select Record Macro Name it something easy, such as ?RightFitSheet?.
3. Assign it a keyboard shortcut using your Shift key and a letter, like R for right fit. This way the shortcut will be Ctrl+Shift+R.
4. Change the ?Store macro in?? field to Personal Macro Workbook. This way you can use it on any workbook.

5. When you click OK, you will be recording your keystrokes. It?s always a good idea to take your hands off of keyboard and mouse at this point. You will want to be very intentional about what you do next.
6. Select the cornerstone on the worksheet to select all cells (Ctrl+A twice works well, too). Be sure that all cells remain selected during the next two steps.
7. Double-click between two column headers. Be sure your cursor is positioned between the two letters and appears as a horizontal double arrow.
8. Now, double-click between two row headers. Be sure your cursor is positioned between the two numbers and appears as a vertical double arrow.

   Right size columns and rows

9. Press Ctrl+Home to place your cursor in cell A1. This step is optional, but it?s always good to know where your cursor is going to end up when your macro completes.

Now reduce the column and row sizes again and try the shortcut you created (Ctrl+Shift+R)!

"Time Crystals" Could Be a Legitimate Form of Perpetual Motion

Physicists explore the concept that cold states of matter can form repeated patterns in time

The phrases "perpetual-motion machine"?a concept derided by scientists since the mid-19th century?and "physics Nobel laureate Frank Wilczek" wouldn't seem to belong in the same sentence. But if Wilczek's latest ideas on symmetry and the nature of time are correct, they would suggest the existence of a bona fide perpetual-motion machine? albeit one from which energy could never be extracted. He proposes that matter could form a "time crystal," whose structure would repeat periodically, as with an ordinary crystal, but in time rather than in space. Such a crystal would represent a previously unknown state of matter and might have arisen as the very early universe cooled, losing its primordial symmetries.

Wilczek describes his work in this article and in this one coauthored by Alfred Shapere of the University of Kentucky, that he posted on the physics preprint server, arXiv.org, on February 12.

"The papers themselves are perfectly respectable, undoubtedly correct, and interesting," says cosmologist Sean Carroll of the California Institute of Technology.

Known for his pioneering work in developing quantum chromodynamics, the theory that explains how the particles inside atomic nuclei stick together, Wilczek, a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, says he got his latest idea two years ago while teaching a course on group theory. That branch of mathematics, which uses matrices to describe the symmetries inherent in families of elementary particles, also describes and classifies the structure of crystals. Materials such as a liquid or a gas in equilibrium, made of uniformly distributed particles, exhibit perfect spatial symmetry?they look the same everywhere and in every direction.

But at very low or minimum energies, most materials can't retain that symmetry, and they crystallize. The regular geometric pattern of a crystal lacks complete spatial symmetry; the structure does not look the same everyplace. Because crystals have less symmetry than before, physicists say they exhibit spontaneous symmetry breaking. Equivalent processes occur in many domains of physics. A type of broken symmetry, which would be indicated by the presence of the Higgs boson now being hunted at the Large Hadron Collider, would explain why subatomic particles have mass.

Wilczek says he started wondering whether the concept of an ordinary three-dimensional crystal could be extended to four dimensions, with the extra dimension that of time. A time crystal would spontaneously break what Wilczek calls "the mother of all symmetries"?the symmetry of time translation, which holds physical laws remains the same regardless of what time it is. A time crystal would change with time but keep coming back to the same form it began with, like a clock whose moving hands periodically return to their original positions.

The difference from an ordinary clock or other periodic process is that a time crystal, as with a spatial crystal, would be a state of minimum possible energy. At first glance, that poses a contradiction. A time crystal by definition must change with time in order to break time translation symmetry. But a system with minimum energy ordinarily can't move. If it could, then additional energy could still be extracted, until the system achieved a true minimum energy, a motionless state.

"At first I thought this was easy, then that it was impossible," Wilczek noted in a recent lecture at Arizona State University at Tempe. "Now I think it's neither easy nor impossible."

A beneficial alternative to purchasing a vehicle can often be to enter a car or van leasing contract. This consents the use of the vehicle(s) for a predefined time in return for a set fee. Leasing Contracts of this nature are governed by provisions, agreed to by both parties in a concise document referred to as the Terms and Conditions of Agreement.

The vehicle leasing may be used for commercial or private use and accommodate the lessee in a variety of ways. The leaser will benefit from the arrangement as well. A variety of leasing plans are available and this is what we shall be considering hereafter.

Private leases that may or may not have maintenance conditions, will permit the use of the vehicle for an allotted time frame. The lessee will be given the choice if the vehicle will be maintained by the leaser or not during this time. Upkeep may include tire replacements, oil change and the capability to acquire a substitute vehicle should the vehicle break down. The agreement that requires no management or maintenance of the vehicle normally presumes that the lessee may be required to pay extra charges and fees for excessive or unreasonable wear and tear.

The lessee has the opportunity to contract specific terms for the lease. A typical lease normally sets guidelines and limits for the vehicle?s mileage. Limits usually include the number of miles the vehicle may be driven. Typically ten thousand miles per year for passenger vehicles, with fees for anything over the agreed upon amount, is the norm. However, some leases will permit, for an additional fee, this amount to be increased if necessary. A lease may specify that any added cost will be transferred to the lessee.

Leasing companies are forming alliances with vehicle financing companies so that the potential lessee gets certain benefits when referred by leasing companies. These benefits may take the form of a waiver on certain sign up fees or an extension of the financing arrangement should the lessee decide he/she wants to buy the vehicle after the end of the lease contract .

Many companies also offer business lease contracts. Business contracts are ideal for companies who want to use a vehicle(s) for a period of between twelve to sixty months for the purposes of business operations or errands.

This can come with the option for maintenance benefits such as tire repair and relief cover in the event of a breakdown which is a valuable guarantee for any business. For this type of contract the vehicle remains the property of the leaser. Some lease companies are flexible enough to allow lessees to decide on the way the lease payments are calculated monthly.

Cross border leasing arrangements are available from some large companies too. This is an option for the vehicle to be leased to someone in another country. It is common in European countries where there may be benefits due to differential taxation of assets across the various countries.

Loan payments are normally considerably higher than Leasing Fees for vehicles of identical make and plate. This alone makes leasing appealing for many people. Couple this with less strict qualifying procedures and optional advantages, and the result is a fast growing sector in many countries, where leasing is becoming more popular and in demand.

Many people believe their IRA actually helps them create wealth.

People may think this because of the relentless marketing by big Wall Street firms. It could have been the relentless cheerleading by CNBC. It could have been their only choice from their employer.

But it doesn't matter. All that matters is most people have horrible results with their IRA - absolutely horrible. People have lost tremendous amounts of money due to investing in their IRA.

Since the year 1998, stock market returns would disappoint even the lowest expectations. These returns are even worse once you take into account inflation - I'd say they are embarrassing! I choose the total stock market return for the last 14 years - since January 1998. The great thing about this website is you can account for inflation too. Adjusted the returns for inflation, you're making 1.2% in the stock market! Those are horrible returns.

But here is the kicker - most people pay fees in their IRA and mutual funds. These fees are very high. Most people pay about 4% per year in fees for the IRA and mutual funds they hold in their IRA.

It's horrible news. Subtract 4% from the measly 1.2% returns of the last 14 years, and you're losing money. You'd have been better putting the money in a mattress, and using some of it to light fireworks on the 4th of July. At least you would have had a bit of fun once a year, and known it was safe the rest of the time.

Here are the sad facts. About 50% of the people in the United States work for small businesses, according to the Census bureau. And small businesses pay dramatically higher fees for their IRA's and mutual funds. I gave a number of 4% fees - and this was being generous. Some many people pay fees as high as 4.8%. Small companies, because they lack negotiating power due to the few employees they have on staff, often have to rely on costly plan providers, such as insurance companies.

Social Security is Better Investment than the Stock Market over the last 14 Years

It's almost impossible to believe, but you'd do better putting your money into a government program.

You've heard how Social Security is a bad investment? Well, it is. It's a terrible investment. You're only likely to make 2% on your money in social security.

But it turns out Social Security is actually a great investment compared to your most people's IRA. Those 2% returns on Social Security are after inflation and after fees.

For most people, Social Security is a better investment in the stock market once you take into account inflation! Ouch.

This doesn't look good for the IRA. Social security has outperformed the stock market by about 5% per year over the last 14 years.

I've made the case we're in store for another 5-10 years of bad stock market returns. Sometimes, bear markets last for decades. The one after the great depression did.

So don't expect some miracle rally to make it all better. It's probably not happening in the next 5 years.

This is disturbing, depressing news for many people. However, it's entirely possible to do better - to do much, much better.

How to Beat the Market in Your IRA

You can get better returns in your IRA by taking advantage of a Trend Following strategy and applying it within your IRA.

With a small amount of work and some basic trend trading principles, you can make more money in your IRA. Not only that, you can make more money with lower risk, and lower fees.

People everywhere are complaining about their retirement accounts and are afraid of having nothing left with which to retire. But the good news is that you can make more money in your IRA (and 401k's too) if you can do a few simple things.

First, you need to make sure your IRA and 401k fees are as low as possible. Fees are wealth killer #1: high fees usually equal poor returns. If you are paying high fees, get out of that IRA program and go somewhere with low fees. You can shop around for this.

It's worth the few hours of time it will take to make the shift. You will make the equivalent of thousands dollars per hour just by shifting to a low fee IRA custodian!

When you do this, make sure you avoid paying the transfer taxes. Also, make sure you can invest in low fee ETF's and have low fee stock transactions. There are several large brokers out there who are excellent low-cost choices. Consult with your advisor on these procedures and be careful to do it correctly.

Then, you need something more than buy and hold stock market. If you use Buy and Hold you get problems like 2008 where you lose 30% in a matter of weeks. Many people panic and pull their money out during these panic times, so they miss out on the recoveries.

But can you protect your wealth within a retirement account? Well, the answer is with a bit of work, and a bit of knowledge, yes.

When you use market-action based rules and keep your fees low, you can dramatically reduce the risk you face, while increasing the returns to your portfolio. A good example is the SPY. The SPY is a popular, low fee S&P 500 index ETF - it's cheap and easy to use in your IRA.

Using the techniques of Trend Following, you would have avoided most of the downward move in 2008, and also caught most of the upward move in 2009.

This strategy can turbocharge the returns in your IRA. Using this moving average rule since 2000 would have nearly doubled your returns in the stock market. That's fantastic!

But even better, the worst loss with this rule would have been about 5%. That's the worst loss, not the smallest. The stock market lost 40% in 2001-2002, then 50% in 2008. Losses of this magnitude are absolutely terrifying.

So keep in mind that you have choices when it comes to your IRA and 401Ks and some of them can make you a lot more money for your retirement.

Doctors' Union To Decide On Industrial Action

Doctors' leaders are holding talks later on whether to vote on taking industrial action after a row over the Government's controversial pension reforms.

British Medical Association (BMA) members are angry at proposed changes to pensions which involve higher contributions, an end to the final salary scheme, and alterations to the automatic lump sum payable on retirement.

Last month, doctors and medical students overwhelmingly rejected the Government's "final" offer on pensions.

The BMA said the changes would see younger doctors paying more than ?200,000 extra over their lifetime in pension contributions and work eight years longer, to 68.

Officials have urged the Government to reopen talks with the health unions, but said neither the Treasury nor the Health Department had signalled any change to their position.

If a ballot for some form of industrial action is ordered, it will be the first among doctors since the 1970s.

It comes amid claims some hospital bosses are fiddling figures to meet Government waiting list targets.

Meanwhile, leaders of a teaching union on Friday rejected the pension changes, delivering a fresh blow to the coalition's hopes of ending the long-running dispute.

The executive of UCAC, which represents thousands of teachers, headteachers and lecturers in Wales, warned that the option of further strikes remained open.

The union leaders, meeting in Aberystwyth, said they wanted to negotiate further with the Government, and will step up its campaign alongside other unions to press for improvements to the offer.

The row over pensions remains deadlocked, with some unions warning of fresh industrial action, possibly on March 28.

Second Marine acquitted of hazing California Marine who killed self

A second Marine has been acquitted of hazing a?Marine from California in the hours before he commited suicide in Afghanistan.

A court-martial Friday in Hawaii found Lance Cpl. Carlos Orozco III not guilty of assaulting and humiliating Cpl. Harry Lew, 21, before Lew?killed himself April 3 in Helmand province. Orozco was charged with hitting and kicking Lew.

A different jury had found Sgt. Benjamin Johns, 22, not guilty of similar charges. Lance Cpl. Jacob Jacoby pleaded guilty to assault and was given 30 days' confinement.

The three Marines were angry at Lew, from Santa Clara in Northern California,?for repeatedly falling asleep while on guard duty, according to testimony. He killed himself with his rifle.

Lew's aunt, Rep. Judy Chu (D-Monterey Park), has called for congressional hearings on hazing in the military.

One of the major complaints about this year's Academy Awards race is that most of the winners feel decided already. Sure, "The Artist" is going to win Best Picture. Viola Davis probably already has Best Actress locked up. But the competition for Best Original Screenplay doesn't even feel like a competition at all. The Academy has already spoken, and they're going with an Oscar favorite.

What's really unfortunate here is not that the category is so predictable, but that the Academy didn't venture more into independent film to find their nominees. "A Separation" stands out as one of the more refreshing nominees, but as the obligatory "indie" nominee, "Margin Call" could easily be swapped out for the likes of Jeff Nichols' "Take Shelter" or Sean Durkin's "Martha Marcy May Marlene."

Of all the films nominated for original writing, here are our predictions for the category in 2012:

Who Will Win: Woody Allen for "Midnight in Paris." After 40-plus years of making movies, Allen delivered a film that went on to become his most financially successful ever. An achievement by a writer/director of his caliber will rarely go unrewarded at the Oscars, and deservedly so. "Midnight in Paris" is perfectly all right with being ridiculous, even going as far as to not explain the main character's time-traveling abilities. More importantly, the film was about something, the allure and emptiness of nostalgia, in a year that's been obsessed with traveling back in time emotionally. Even if the plot became repetitive at times, even the most cynical viewers had to find some joy in watching the like of Hemingway and the Fitzgeralds speaking words written by Allen.

Who Should Win: Asghar Farhadi for "A Separation." Anytime the Academy has an opportunity to do something utterly unexpected, that's where my heart will lie. A win for the Iranian film would not only buck old Academy stereotypes, but reward a truly deserving film. "A Separation" follows a married couple as they decided whether to stay in Iran and care for an ailing parent or leave to better the life of their young daughter. Launching from that already provocative starting point, the film goes unexpected places while keeping the audience's attention every step of the way.

7. I somehow managed to roll my finger up in the window today while stopped at a light. ?It hurts, but my fingernail has yet to turn black and fall off. ?I?ll keep you posted.

8. I ran today. Only about 2-2.5 miles, but hey, it?s something. I also walked with my mom and Rascal.

GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum on Tuesday defended his 2008 comments on Satan.

Rick Santorum is?far from?alone in professing a belief in Satan. In fact, most Americans believe in the devil too.

Santorum, the former Pennsylvania senator and 2012 Republican presidential contender, is making headlines this week for comments he made at a Catholic university in 2008 about Satan having his ?sights on? America.

In the speech, which resurfaced recently, Santorum told an audience at Ave Maria University in southwest Florida: ?Satan [has been] attacking the great institutions of America, using those great vices of pride, vanity and sensuality as the root to attack all of the strong plants that [have] so deeply rooted in the American tradition.?

He said Satan has been ?most successful? in attacking academia, but that Satan also has gone after the church and popular culture. Santorum said politics and government would be the next to fall to Satan?s attack. ?The body politic held up fairly well up until the last couple of decades but it is falling too.?

While such frank talk about spiritual warfare is uncommon among presidential candidates, surveys over the past few decades have shown that the majority of Americans do believe in Satan.

According to a 2007 Gallup poll, seven in 10 Americans said they believe in ?the Devil,? while 8 percent were not sure. Twenty-one percent said they don?t believe in the devil.

Eighty-six percent said they believe in God, while 8 percent were not sure and 6 percent said they don?t believe in God.

A 2009 Harris Interactive survey found 60 percent of American adults believe in the devil, while 82 percent said they believe in God.

"Santorum's comments regarding his theory of the fall of American institutions is, I think, quite relevant in the current presidential debate," said C. Melissa Snarr, associate preofessor of ethics and society at Vanderbilt University Divinity School.

"In a public speech, Santorum offered a grand interpretation of the current challenges facing the United States. I think it is imperative to analyze and debate his version of a political theodicy (or why bad things happen to good countries) and ask whether his interpretation is one that voters should feel comfortable backing," Snarr said in an email to msnbc.com."

"What he's saying, it's certainly not any heresy," the Rev.?Tom Reese, a senior fellow at Georgetown University's Woodstock Theological Center, told CNN. "It's the language some preachers would use that conservative Catholics would be very comfortable with. Is it the kind of language theology professors at Catholic universities would use? Probably not. They would likely see it more metaphorically," he said, according to CNN.

Snarr said the media is right to dissect the speech.

"Is the media making too much of it? No. He has chosen to make a very public interpretation of the trajectory of the United States (specifically citing an opposition candidate) and his public political theology should be discussed thoroughly," Snarr said in an email response.

She added: "This is not to say, however, that a belief in Satan or even spiritual warfare puts him at the 'extreme' end of Christianity. Belief in Satan and Satan's activity is present in multiple Christian traditions and particularly important for more theologically conservative evangelical believers? of whom there are many in the U.S."

The first thing you'll need to know is how to use a lifeboat. Generally speaking, cruise ships don't teach passengers too much about this kind of safety, so you've got to take it upon yourself to figure it out. Take a walk around the ship once you get on there, just so you know where the lifeboats are. That way if something goes down, you'll know exactly what to do.

If there is only one bad person on board who is going to take advantage of other people, then this can ruin your whole trip. That's why it's always a good idea not to stray too far away from people. Stick around people the whole time, and you won't run into any kind of trouble.

When you go ashore, make sure to go with a group. If you go by yourself, you could be a sitting duck for thieves who prey on tourists. Because you have to get back on the ship in a couple of hours, you'll be less likely to go to the police. Thieves know this, and can take advantage of this fact.

Of course, it goes without saying that you should keep your cabin door locked at all times. Don't open it for anybody that you don't know.

If you drink a lot of alcohol, you could be an easy target for somebody who wants to rob you. So be careful about this. Sure, have a couple of drinks and enjoy yourself, but don't drink so much that you pass out in the middle of the dance floor.

Taking a cruise can be a wonderful journey. When you follow these simple tips, you'll stay safe, and really enjoy yourself. Have fun.

For defeating all the monsters in an area a player who does this will gain one thousand experience points. If the kills in an area are split between a number of people then however many monsters they have defeated in one area gets multiplied by two and added to their experience points. So if you defeated 20 goblins in an area and they are worth fifty experience points then you get:

50 x 20 x 2= 2000 Experience Points

If you only defeat five though then when an area is cleared by someone you get:

50 x 5 x 2= 500 Experience Points
